In this episode, we take you through the whole process of renovating our staircase! We started by demolishing the old spiral staircase, then filling in the hole left by the spiral staircase, then cutting the hole for the new staircase, then installing structural support and headers, then building and installing the second floor floating platform, then building the basement and first floor landings, and then finally the stairs were installed along with the steel cable railings. We finished the stairs by painting the stringers black and gave all the hickory a coat of lacquer! I hope you enjoy the video as it took months of preparation and work!
