This customer sent this very new Xforce 2 Driving 8 Transistor Amplifier to me for first off a repair. He also wanted some new modifications as a Staging Circuit so that he can independently turn the driver and final stage on and off.
I made the choice to upgrade some of the parts in the amp as the Ceramic Disc Capacitors that were on the output Transformers to a Matched Number of Metal Clad Mica Capacitors.
The customer then had the idea of an upgrade which was a really cool idea of me adding an internal wiMOTE(wireless remote) to the inside of the amplifier. This amplifier now can be remotely turned on and off with a remote control.
I also installed all new HG 2879 Transistors and re tuned each 4 pill stage to obtained the proper input and output loading capacitors.
Everything turned out great!
I also noticed that the fans that were on the unit were no where near fast enough to keep this amplifier cool. I installed 2 fans that equaled to about 6 to 8 of the fans that were already on the unit.
