I repurposed E-Waste! but this time it is controlling a Hermes Lite SDR.
In my previous video, I turned Spotify’s abandoned Car Thing into a general ham radio controller. In this video, I take it further and integrate it directly with Thetis SDR and a Hermes Lite, turning the Car Thing into a dedicated SDR control surface for the shack.
This setup gives me frequency control, mode awareness, visual feedback, and real time interaction with Thetis, all from a device Spotify thought was dead.
If you are running a Hermes Lite, experimenting with Thetis, or looking for a compact, purpose built controller that does not eat up screen space, this one is for you.
🧠 Who this is for:
Hermes Lite owners
Thetis SDR users
SDR experimenters and tinkerers
Anyone who watched the original Car Thing video and said
“Well, shit, there still is experimentation in ham radio.”
